Trip report is now on-line

If you'd like to read about my bike ride from Ottawa to Niagara-on-the-Lake where Jule joined me for some much needed R&R, not to mention some serious wine tasting, please go here.

Bonus points to anyone who actually does more than just look at the pictures.

No, we did NOT drink bottles containing all those corks on the table! They are decoration. :)

I read your journal! Three times. Proofreading. I should go back now and just enjoy the stories. Some of them were pretty good.

Hi Peter & Julia

Enjoyed reading your trip report! Sounds like you had a great time. I'm just back from 15 days of cycling (PEI and NB) - and several lines made me smile:

Headwinds.
I felt your pain.

Why am i doing this again?
Made me laugh - I don't know how many times I've uttered the same words.

Cars and trucks were whizzing by at 100 plus kpm (it's posted at 80)
Oh - truck suck - I dislike it very much.

Dogs!

A recurring theme today became following roads with words like "mountain", "ridge", "bluff", and so forth. These are not good words for a loaded touring cyclist with a full belly and sore legs.
Ouch.

Take care
Nadine

Hi Nadine -

Thanks for taking a read through the thing. Glad you liked it. The hills, winds, dogs and other obstacles somehow go to make it feel so much more worthwhile after it's all over. I'm sure you agree, having had time to reflect on your own journey. If you post an account somewhere, I'd love to take a read through it. Let me know if you do.

Tailwinds to you ... :)
